Wakestock Rails

This year the rail course at Wakestock was insane. The rails were narrower, longer and tailer than they have ever been. On monday morning before takedown I got to join the wakestock staff on a little rail session. The course was was a challenge for sure, everyone was killing the up rail but we all struggled on the 100 ft long rails. I even clipped my board on the step up A-frame rail and belly flopped from 8 ft up. That was not fun! This video is Pat - boardslide 270 pretzel

Wakestock Sunday

I headed up to the 11th Annual Wakestock event this year on Toronto Island. The event was a blast. Ottawa had a lot of riders post up great results this year including Erika Langman who managed to podium in the Pro Expression Session finals. Congrats to Erika on her 3rd place finish.

In Your Face

On Wednesday Russell and I headed to The Beach Club for a day of jibbing. The weather was not looking good when we first showed up but the sun came out later in the afternoon. The Beach Club staff was nice enough to load both Russell and I on one carrier so we can film some cool ride by shots. The video is me doing a nose press then soaking Russell and the camera. HaHa In your face Russell!

Text book

Today Charlie came along for a film session in the afternoon. Today was his first day filming with the crew and his second day on his new IBEX. It started to rain just as Charlie was putting on his board but that didn't stop him from throwing down a crazy run including this textbook whirlybird. He even through a moby dick in his run for good measure.

Ride the Wake

On Tuesday night I went riding with the Ride the Wake Crew. Jordan busted out both boats so we could film some chase boat shots. He also busted out this nice tootsie roll. (his first one he landed in Ottawa) The entire crew threw down and everyone got a few good shots.

Filming Session at Pats

Chris and I headed up to Pats cottage for a film session on his rail. We had a few rain delays but had a great time. We each got a few nice shots on film. We also went diving down to an old shipwreck on his lake and got some cool footage of that as well. In the afternoon we headed into the river and spotted a cool place to build another rail. We hope to organize a film weekend after Wakestock so we can film on both rails.

A Day at the Beach

On Sunday Matt and myself decided to head up to The Beach Club just outside of Montreal. We ended up meeting Charlie there and had a blast riding. Just as we start to film the cable had a few mishaps and our filming time was cut short. All and all a great day, tried some new tricks and got a few things on film.

HCP Rail

After posting a rail at Pats place I decided that I needed one at my place as well. This rail can be hit as an up-flat from either direction. The ups are 12 ft and the flat is 24ft long. Its a great rail for any ability. I also got to test out my camera dolly when filming this shot.

Posting at Pats

Once we got back from Florida it was time to start posting our own rail. I headed up to Pats cottage and started building. This year we wanted to try something new. We decided to make a relentless rail. This thing is going to be awsome! Since posting it the water levels have dropped about 6 inches.

Florida Trip

I started out the year by flying down to Florida. I meet up with Pat and we headed to the OWC for a few day of riding. We got a few good shots on film then headed to the Projects for a day of riding. The weather was amazing, here is a photo of Pat on the UGP rail.
